We are looking for an Associate Systems Engineer with a primary focus on desktop virtualization. The successful candidate will be joining a very dynamic environment and will be responsible for contributing to the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our Virtual Desktop environments. You will be an influencer and team member within an established team underway to migrate our Windows VDI platform from Amazon Workspaces to Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). You will ensure that our virtual desktop environments meet our business requirements and provide a world class user experience for our clients while protecting the firm.
Skills and Competencies
- Minimum 2 years’ experience configuring, deploying, and managing governance of a modern Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environments (Azure preferred).
- Knowledge of FSLogix and Azure Virtual Desktop host pool management.
- Experience with VDI transport protocols.
- Working knowledge and hands on experience in Microsoft Intune, Active Directory, Amazon AWS, Auto Pilot, Zero Touch Provisioning, Azure Virtual Desktop, Power BI, Windows 11.
- Decent knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Azure ecosystem, Entra AD (SSO, Entra Hybrid Join).
- Decent knowledge of integrated components, including Windows Server AD domain services, AD Certificate Services, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Objects, permissions, and authentication.
- Proficient in a scripting languages PowerShell and Python.
- Proficient in using vendor provided APIs.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent area of study.
- Industry certifications in relevant areas is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities
- Optimize Platform Performance: Continuously enhance system functionality for a better in class user experience.
- Innovate Technology Solutions: Pioneer new technologies and methodologies to address complex business challenges and drive organizational growth.
- Endpoint Infrastructure Focus: Specialize in engineering tasks for improving endpoint services and management by building and leveraging data integrations with Power BI.
- User Experience (UX) Evaluation: Define UX standards, optimize interfaces, and anticipate user interactions with system updates.
- Enhance User Experience Design: Foster employee productivity through user-centered design improvements.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Work with network, server, and security teams for seamless infrastructure compatibility.
- Automation and Scripting: Develop tools for more efficient Windows and macOS endpoint management and deployment.
- Continuous Process Improvement: Identify streamlining opportunities for applications, systems, and platforms.
About the Team:
Join the Workplace Services Endpoint Engineering Team and you'll work at the highest systems level to provide expert advice and counsel to users, management, and IT project teams for systems of the most complex nature (typically crossing function/location lines).
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$71,200.00 - [[$103,300.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
