Department:
The CLO and Structured Credit Group (SCG) reviews a wide range of securitization structures, comprising collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), structured notes, repackaged bond transactions, and other structured credit products.
Role and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a talented and highly motivated professional to join our Structured Credit team in New York. The ALA1will be primarily responsible for the analysis of the quantitative, structural and credit aspects of CLOs, publishable research, and special projects intended to enhance Moody's analytics and research. TheALA1 will be expected to lead rating committees and offer his or her analysis of the potential credit impact of the terms of transaction documents. The ALA1 will be expected to interact with arrangers and other related parties of a transaction. TheALA1 will work closely with our legal reviews in rating transactions.
Main Responsibilities
• Model and analyze legal documents of cash flow CLOs and similar transactions for the purpose of determining credit risk and ratings. Prepare rating committee memos and present rating recommendations to rating committees.
• Communicate with clients, including arrangers, issuers, investors, and outside legal experts
• Write publishable research, including transaction-related reports, and articles on credit issues affecting the industry
• Participate in on-site operations reviews of issuers
Qualifications:
• MBA, Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Finance or related quantitative field with at least two years of experience as a Financial Analyst or related occupation, involving credit analysis for CLOs and complex structured credit transactions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential
• Strong modeling skills and capability to perform cash flow analysis with Moody’s CDOEdge software
• Ability to identify a transaction’s credit strengths and weaknesses when reading its legal documents
• Good customer service skills
• Strong analytical orientation
• Sound judgment, highest ethical standards and capable of complying with extensive rules, policies, and procedures
• Capable of developing independent opinions and defending one’s views
• Professional, pro-active, flexible, diligent, dependable, and detail-oriented
• Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business environment
• Highly organized and efficient, with an ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work independently and possessing strong initiative
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $116,500.00 - $168,850.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
