Responsibilities
As a forward-thinking software engineer and leader, you will work on a variety of projects, fundamentally shifting how we do business by leveraging both traditional and cutting-edge AI technologies.
• Dedicate half your time to hands-on development, creating simple, clean, and testable code in Python and TypeScript to build new product features and refactor existing systems.
• Act as a key technical authority, spending ~25% of your time making critical architectural and design decisions for services, machine learning solutions, and front-ends to ensure they are scalable and robust.
• Utilize the remaining ~25% of your time on management and supervisory functions, including providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and overseeing project execution with a high degree of autonomy.
• Collaborate within a fast-moving team to solve large, complicated problems for some of the largest organizations in the world.
• Embrace a full-stack mentality, with the willingness to jump in and contribute to any problem thrown at you.
Skills and Competencies
• Required: Strong skills with relational databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL) and document-based (NoSQL) data stores (e.g., MongoDB).
• Required: Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
• Preferred: Experience with functionally flavored languages (e.g., Clojure, Haskell).
• Preferred: Experience with popular front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Vue).
• Preferred: Hands-on experience with training and deploying machine learning models.
• Desired: Any measure of DevOps experience (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Demonstrated ability to absorb new information quickly and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
• Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to drive projects to completion.
