Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Location: 7575 Gateway Blvd, Suite 300, Newark, CA 94560, USA

Duties: Design, build, and operate equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, and server operating systems. Monitor system operation to detect potential problems and resolve them within an aggressive timeline. Administer Largescale IBM GPFS Filesystems, including software updates, troubleshooting, and perform monitoring. Perform required software configuration within the RHEL/Centos operating systems to guarantee peak performance. Conduct software and hardware tests. Perform required hardware upgrades to align the HP C environment with the ever-growing compute demand required by Moody’s complex simulations and Models including VAS, and SAN Storage arrays such as NetApp filers, Brocade Switched. Coordinate the installation of the new hardware. Design and implement a disaster recovery process to minimize the impact of an eventful outage, including setting up data replication and ensuring proper backup processes from a project perspective, estimating the time and material required to complete the projects assigned. Communicate with the different vendors to gather information about products and alert them to future needs. Resolve issues and address system maintenance issues and participate in the on-call L3 support rotation. Design document specifications, installation instructions, and system-related information. Oversee Big data Spark clusters for Model engine development and set-up Kubemetes clusters for Model development in containerized architecture.

Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field plus at least two (2) years of experience as a Systems Engineer or in a related technical position designing and maintaining highly resilient enterprise level infrastructure. Must have experience with the following: High Performance Computing Systems for distributed scientific processing using UNIVA Grid Engine and GPFS; Automation of VMware Virtual servers and physical servers provisioning using Foreman; Kubernetes clusters using Docker; Apache Spark clusters for big data processing; Python and Ansible.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $110,032 - $220,250/yr, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
