Moody's have an exciting opportunity for a senior German speaking VP-Relationship Manager, debt capital market expert, to help further increase Moody’s Ratings coverage with Corporates, Financial Institutions and Public Sector entities in Switzerland.

Responsible for the development and execution of a dedicated outreach strategy for Moody’s Ratings to entities in Switzerland seeking credit ratings to access both domestic and international capital markets.

Ability to act and execute independently essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute a strategic outreach to target customers to win new mandates for both Credit Ratings and ESG services, including Second Party Opinions and Net Zero assessments, with Corporates, Financial Institutions and Public Sector entities in Switzerland.
  • Managing relationships with existing Tier 1 and 2 customers in Switzerland, cross selling the entire product suite of Moody’s Ratings, including negotiating fee agreements.
  • Engage with key Intermediaries, including Banks, Legal firms and key industry capital market associations in order to expand Moody’s Ratings reach into Debt Syndicates, Debt Origination, ESG advisory, decentralized finance providers and other arranging functions.
  • Facilitate appropriate engagement with target customers for analytical teams.
  • Expect to spend approximately 50% of time travelling meeting customers and attending industry conferences.
  • Work in collaboration with relationship managers in Business Development in across EMEA
  • Help to further increase Moody’s Ratings visibility and thought leadership in Credit Ratings, Sustainable Finance, Private Credit, Digital Economy in the Swiss market by facilitating Roundtables, Webinars, or speaking slots for Moody’s Ratings analysts.


  • Extensive multiyear experience in Swiss Debt Capital Markets with a proven track record of local market network contacts
  • Sales or Debt Capital Market origination/syndicate or Senior Banker or Relationship Management role in a financial institution or international rating agency for Swiss based Corporates, Financial Institutions or Public Sector Issuers
  • Exposure to and extensive knowledge of the role and functions of Rating Agencies
  • Experience of direct interaction with clients and market participants at C-level
  • Proven interaction and networking capabilities with Swiss industry bodies and associations


  • Proven experience in understanding and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Strong communications and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in Sustainable Finance desirable.
  • Knowledge on latest developments in decentralized finance desirable.
  • Credit expertise and ability to demonstrate knowledge of MIS Rating methodologies.
  • Experience in relationship management including business development and sales and marketing.
  • Masters or CFA desirable

Key Skills - Technical

  • Ability to understand and communicate the fundamentals of Moody's analytical approach, methodologies and methodology changes
  • Well-developed IT skills including advanced Microsoft Office applications, PowerPoint and Advanced Excel
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, or equivalent Customer Relationship Management tool, is a plus

  • Ability to independently maintain and develop active relationships with existing and prospect customer at C level.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and organizational skills.
  • Ability to articulate and explain Moody’s value proposition, products and services.

Language requirement:

  • Excellent written and spoken German (ideally Swiss German) and English are essential
  • Additional European languages such as French and Italian an advantage
