Moody’s Ratings is undertaking a end-to-end digital transformation program, an exciting journey to enhance the customer experience, improve processes, increase automation and fortify technology infrastructure. A key component of the new Commercial end-to-end customer journey is the commercial contracting process and we are seeking an experienced and ambitious individual to assume ownership responsibility for the Commercial Contracting process.

Role

This role holder is responsible for the ownership, design and ongoing management of the end-to-end Commercial Contracting process as well as other Order management processes for the Commercial Group; incorporating Design Thinking and Agile approaches that drive an enhanced customer experience, deliver globally consistent performance and enable efficiencies and iterative improvement.

  • Process Ownership: Owning, managing and enhancing the Commercial Contracts process. This includes: (a) the ‘look and feel’ aesthetics of Moody’s Ratings commercial contracts; (b) customer contracting data requirements; contract generation and send/receive processes; (c) contract reporting requirements; (d) contracting controls and document management principles.
  • Process Management: Define, implement and manage the processes within the Commercial Contracting process to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with relevant Law and Regulation. This requires understanding and effective communication of business requirements, designing process maps, and establishing process controls.
  • Change Management: Define and own components of the business readiness plan for the digitized workflow. This includes coordinating with other Business Process owners, Digital Product, RM and SMEs. Write and maintain How to/User guide for all users of the Order and Customer Profile creation processes; Coordinate the delivery of the training for digitized workflow.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement process performance metrics and KPIs. Regularly review and analyze process performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create/maintain the Contract Management Roadmap and manage technology enablement / end-to-end implementation for the new contracting architecture and processes. Engaging across functions (MIS Tech, Commercial Leadership, Product Management, Design Centre, Control functions, Pricing, Billing, GMO, Relationship Managers) to prioritise improvements and implementation schedules and get ‘buy-in’ consensus to implement the changes.

Candidate Competencies:

General Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of the Financial Services sector, specifically Credit Ratings industry
  • Demonstrable experience working within and understanding behavioural requirements of a regulated environment
  • Legal background is desirable. If the candidate does not hold a legal qualification of a relevant nature then candidate will be expected to be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of legal principles and terms."
  • Strong communications, analytical and management skills, with the ability to present quantitative and technical concepts to both business executives and technical teams

  • Complete regular Risk Control Self Assessments for the processes owned
  • Solution focused; identify solutions, lead the implementation and help team overcome complaints and obstacles.
  • Familiar with the roles of Risk Owner/Process Owner/Product Owner and Data Owner.
  • Comfortable with Six Sigma approach
  • Focus on outcomes based on clear KPIs/OKRs

Leadership & collaboration

  • Natural change agent with entrepreneurial instincts who articulates the need for change and improvement with ease.
  • Build enduring relationships with internal stakeholders - especially the Control functions, technology and RM functions.

Candidate Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Economics or finance background. Master degree will be appreciated.
  • 8+ years of working experience with a solid background in Project/Process/Product Management.
  • Practical experience leading process design and improvement projects to delivered results. Experience with Design Thinking and Agile methodologies.
  • Experienced in managing large, complex and mid-size projects within financial industry, is preferred
  • Experience with defining, designing, documenting and implementing business processes
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to set direction, ensuring working groups meet project deliverables. Self-starter with ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Is able to manage senior stakeholders and develops a good working relationships within all the levels of the organization
  • Exposure to and/or knowledge of the role and function of Rating Agencies is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Access and Visio.
  • Sound judgment-capable of developing independent opinion and defending own views.

  • Willingness to travel to Moody’s regional and occasionally global offices (5-10%).
