Skills and Competencies

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of communications and media relations experience in a corporate environment, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • Ability to manage a small team of entry-level to mid-career communications professionals.
  • Experience with development and activation of integrated, multi-channel communications strategies and campaigns, including social media.
  • Ability to successfully build and maintain media relationships.
  • Strong and persuasive verbal and written skills (concise, impactful, compelling content).
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Must be a professional, creative, organized, enthusiastic and flexible individual, who can work effectively both as a collaborative team member and independently.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 360, specifically Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint; demonstrated experience using GenAI tools and technology to power Communications activities is a plus.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or a related field.


Responsibilities

The VP Manager - External Communications in Singapore plays a pivotal role on our Regional Communications team, positioning Moody’s as a leading provider of insights on risk in the media and with other stakeholders in the APAC region. The role is that of a trusted communications counsellor who will lead a small team in order to:

  • Assume responsibility for regional communications across APAC markets.
  • Lead the implementation of communications strategies in support of a wide range of business units within Moody’s.
  • Be responsible for developing and maintaining media relationships, ensuring robust relationships with journalists covering Moody’s content.
  • Respond to media inquiries by providing solutions content, ratings, research, and facilitating access to analysts, economists, product specialists and subject matter experts.
  • Engage in proactive outreach to the media through targeted distributions of promotional digital content (podcasts, videos, infographics) and reports, e-mails, phone calls, briefings, interviews, background meetings, etc.
  • Maintain our media contacts database, regional media monitoring and analysis, manage our media engagement tracking and maintain detailed records of media activity
  • Partner with Moody’s Employee Communications team on the implementation of regional employee communications initiatives
  • Provide Communications support for senior leadership traveling in the region
  • Partner with Moody’s Branding team to identify and develop content showcasing Moody’s regional impact and engagement as part of its global brand story
  • Provide communications support for Moody’s regional market engagement conferences and events
  • Develop and post clear, concise and engaging social media content, with a focus on LinkedIn. Track, analyze and report on content performance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal business stakeholders.
  • Based in Singapore managing a hybrid team of geographically distributed contributors
