The Senior Vice President, Executive Communications will be the principal writer and editor for internal and external communications from the CEO and other members of the Executive Leadership Team. Working across the broader communications team on the CEO’s communications strategy, this role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional writing skills and the ability to manage high-profile communications initiatives. The ideal candidate will thrive as a senior individual contributor who is imaginative, creative as well as a proactive self-starter with a very high level of attention to detail, quality, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly support the CEO and select members of the Executive Leadership Team to deliver communications that inspire, engage and align through speeches, remarks, written internal and external communications and video scripts
- Craft compelling speeches, presentations, and written communications for senior management
- Translate business strategies, priorities and initiatives, as outlined by Executive Leadership, into clear and engaging messages that resonate with target audiences
- Anticipate communication needs and proactively identify opportunities and optimal channels for Executive Leadership to share key messages
- Support the creation of impactful materials and executive positioning documents that support Moody’s corporate narrative
- Ensure all deliverables stay on track and on time; manage reviews with multiple stakeholders and overall cadence
- Discern and reflect the CEO voice
- Partner with the internal and external communications centers of excellence to create compelling and relevant content that highlights Moody’s strategy, brand, and values
- Collaborate with internal teams, including external and employee communications, Chief of Staff to the CEO, investor relations, and business colleagues to ensure consistent messaging
- Monitor industry trends and public perception to proactively address potential communication challenges
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in executive speechwriting in corporate communications, government and public affairs or related field
- Experience in effectively capturing the principal’s voice and ensuring that communications resonate with targeted audience
- Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills
- Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality and discretion
- Reliable, results-oriented "ownership" orientation
- Individual contributor with a strong sense of team, purpose and humor
- Bold, clear, perceptive writing style that creates accessible, compelling and authentic content
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- High learning and change agility; ability to quickly grasp, and subsequently convey, new concepts to an employee base through written and verbal communications
- Exceptional storytelling skills
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $192,500.00 - $279,200.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
