Skills and Competencies

  • Experience - 5 + years, with project management and/or risk management experience preferred.
  • Logical thinker with excellent verbal and written skills. Able to draft clear and concise presentations and comfortable engaging with stakeholders from across the company.
  • Strong listener with ability to successfully digest information / requirements but also not afraid to ask questions, when required.
  • Demonstrated experience in working independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Education

  • Bachelors or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Research Risk Associate is a key contributor within the Risk Management team, focusing on enhancing and implementing risk management practices within Moody’s Ratings Research department. This role involves applying knowledge and problem-solving skills to manage moderately complex issues, driving the adoption of our Risk Framework, and supporting the operational aspects of risk management. The Sr. Research Risk Associate will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of risk awareness and compliance with our risk management standards.

As a Sr. Research Risk Associate, you will be instrumental in supporting and advancing our risk management efforts, specifically by:

  • Promoting Risk Management Culture: Actively contribute to embedding a robust risk management culture within the research department, ensuring adherence to the risk program’s standards.
  • Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Keep track of, update, and efficiently support the progress of managing risk issues and events. Prepare and present materials for risk governance forums as needed.
  • Risk Assessments: Support the facilitation of Risk & Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) in alignment with our risk standards. Manage and track RCSA outcomes, assisting in the preparation of materials to communicate findings.
  • Data Management and Process Improvement: Assist in gathering and managing data for RCSAs, issues, and events, ensuring compliance with risk best practices. Serve as a point of contact for internal control queries and recommend process or control improvements as identified.
  • Project Support: Provide support on or manage ad-hoc risk-related projects or initiatives to meet departmental objectives.

Moody’s Ratings (MR) Research is dedicated to delivering credit insights that meet market demands with the objective to provide the right research to the right person at the right time. The Sr. Research Risk Associate position is in within the MR Research Risk Management team. The mission of the team is to oversee the operationalization of Moody’s Ratings Risk management Strategy, Framework and Programs as well as support Moody’s ratings Research on all risk-related topics so that it may effectively meet business objectives.
