Title: Sr Ratings Associate
Location: 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007
Duties: Lead analysts in interactions with external markets, and assist lead analysts in preparing communications to issuers, intermediaries and investors regarding Moody’s credit rating views and practices. Serve as lead point of contact and oversee multiple Ratings and Research (R&R) lead analysts and perform any additional ad-hoc analysis and tasks at the behest of lead analysts as needed and where appropriate. Oversee transaction documentation and review proprietary rating models and related projections and outputs. Manage key components of documentation related to Moody’s rating determination process, including charts for rating committee memos. Review rating and research relevant publications, such as credit opinions and monitor issuer and credit portfolio trends by following market developments. Review preliminary work and analysis provided by junior analytical staff, including Associates and FDAs, to formulate comprehensive credit analysis. Lead analytical tasks primarily related to rating, research and investor outreach activities. Mentor and train junior team members on rating methodologies, models and processes.
Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field plus two (2) years of experience as an Analyst or related position with credit rating methodologies, financial performance databases, and rating committee processes and systems. Must have experience with the following: applying rating process and services, compliance policies and procedures, and rating business regulatory requirements; reviewing quantitative and qualitative assessments of financial statements and economic/market data; reviewing research produced on specific issuers, general credit trends, or sector related issues; providing analytical oversight, including documenting and implementing workflow processes and conducting quality checks; credit opinions and issuer analyses on both investment-grade and speculative-grade credits; and conducting complex quantitative and financial analyses. Alternatively, employer will accept two (2) additional years of related work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $87,838 to $135,750, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Annual base salary gross: $87,838 to $135,750. Applicable to Lithuania candidates: The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moody’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. The salary is one component of Moody’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards and benefits include the following: Medical, Personal Accident, Life Insurance and Time Off.
