Job Description

In this role you will lead a group within the global Application Production Support team within MIS Technology and drive the implementation of a modern Application Support & Operations journey for Moody’s Investors Service (MIS).

We seek a seasoned Application Production Support Specialist, responsible for quality and timely delivery of application support services. This role requires managing service delivery, stability, and availability using monitoring and automation tools. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of AWS, AWS Glue, Pyspark, and advanced SQL, as well as excellent troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in application troubleshooting analysis via CloudWatch is essential, and familiarity with AWS Athena will be advantageous.

The role will entail developing subject matter expertise on the LOB application & operations and driving a team of resources towards an efficient delivery model using Kanban, instrumentation and automation, supporting a global business across all major geographies.

This role requires proficient skills in log analysis, job failure resolution, CloudWatch monitoring, Athena query execution, and PySpark script debugging to accurately identify and resolve production system issues. A thorough understanding of business operations, applications, integrations, vendors, products, services, systems, and workflows is essential.

Job Knowledge and Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of Production and Operations support function aligned to a line of business across global geographies and time zones
• Implement systems and processes to consistently improve incident resolution times and maximize the team’s output
• Develop strategies to reduce business disruption due to high impact incidents
• Deliver superior production support for applications, ensuring their stability, reliability, and optimal performance.
• Utilize AWS Glue and Pyspark for application production assistance.
• Apply advanced SQL skills for data management, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Design, implement, and fine-tune SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.
• Supervise application performance and implement necessary enhancements.
• Utilize CloudWatch for advanced application monitoring.
• Collaborate with the development team to comprehend and implement system enhancements and fixes.
• Liaise with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver suitable solutions.
• Uphold compliance with data security and privacy policies.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience in application production support.
• Proficiency in AWS and AWS Glue.
• Extensive experience with Pyspark.
• Advanced understanding of SQL, including troubleshooting, monitoring, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with AWS Athena is a significant advantage.
• Experience in providing training via CloudWatch.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• AWS Certification is beneficial.
