Skills and Competencies
Must-Have
- Experience with Python, C++, or C programming languages
- Basic understanding of cloud technologies
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and file systems
- Understanding of engineering processes and agile principles
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and a natural problem-solver
Preferred
- Experience working in remote Linux environments
- Familiarity with writing regression/integration tests
- Experience with Git or other version control systems
- Exposure to QA automation
- Understanding of JSON and XML
- Experience in software development
- Knowledge of SQL
- Knowledge of AWS S3 or Google Cloud Storage (GCS) buckets
- Experience with AI-assisted software development and testing
Education
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Ideally one year away from graduation
- Start Date: March 2026
Responsibilities
- Gain exposure to various stages of the software engineering lifecycle, particularly those involved in processing and testing real-time news feeds
- Collaborate with team members to understand the feed handler development process, with a focus on QA monitoring and automation
- Learn and contribute to existing testing and automation procedures
- Assist in migrating legacy C code to Python, including implementing new features and enhancing existing ones
- Help improve and automate testing workflows
