Skills and Competencies 

  • 7+ years’ experience in global network support team   
  • Strong knowledge on Load Balancing / Application Delivery (F5 LTM/GTM/Enterprise Manager) 
  • Proficiency in writing and debugging F5 iRules. 
  • Strong understanding of application traffic flows and troubleshooting techniques. 
  • Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, Azure Network Watcher, Log Analytics). 
  • Knowledge of network security principles, SSL certificates, and encryption methodologies. 
  • Familiarity with other load balancers, firewalls, and web proxies is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with cloud-based load balancing solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP). 
  • Knowledge on Python, Ansible, Stackstorm is a plus 
  • Experience investigating complex issues and performing corrective actions, proven track record in leading major incident recovery. 
  • Highly impactful problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Experience working with ITSM systems such as ServiceNow. 
  • Customer focused & solutions driven 
  • Participate in rotational weekend shifts OR on-call and provide after-hours support. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. 

 

 

 

Education  

  • F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (F5-CA) or higher certification is preferred 
  • CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued) 
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS) 
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model 
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools 

 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Configure and maintain F5 Load Balancers: Implement and manage F5 load balancers (LTM, GTM, ASM, APM modules), develop and implement profiles, rules, and policies to meet business requirements, and ensure uptime and reliability. 
  • Collaborate with network and engineering teams: Work together on load balancing infrastructure for cloud and data center environments. 
  • Network architecture analysis and implementation: Understand and apply network architecture principles. 
  • Daily administration of network load balancer environment: Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the network load balancer environment. 
  • Monitor and analyze performance: Continuously monitor load balancer performance, analyze logs and performance data, and implement health checks and failover strategies to ensure high availability of applications. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues: Address connectivity, traffic flow, and application performance issues involving F5 products. 
  • Proficiency in Switching: Knowledge of LACP, vPC, STP, VLAN, ARP, IP, etc. 
  • Network monitoring and alerting: Utilize tools like SolarWinds, Orion, Netflow, Grafana for monitoring and dashboarding. 
  • Troubleshoot data packet capture and analysis: Experienced in TCP/IP packet capture and analysis. 
  • Configure and install network devices and services: Set up routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS. 
  • Perform network maintenance and upgrades: Apply service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations. 
  • Monitor system performance and reliability: Ensure system availability and reliability, monitor resource utilization, and plan capacity. 
  • Provide Level-2/3 support: Offer advanced support and troubleshooting to resolve issues. 
  • Configuration and change management: Work within established policies to ensure successful changes to the network infrastructure. 
  • Security tools and policies: Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the security team. 
  • Implement global risk controls: Apply security measures and best practices to manage risk. 
  • On-call rotation and after-hours support: Participate in on-call rotation, weekend changes, and provide after-hours support. 
  • Service recovery and mitigation: Lead service recovery from major incidents, identify root causes, and implement permanent solutions. 
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation for application configurations, processes, and procedures including SoPs.

The Technology Services Group (TSG) are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Juniper Network Support Engineer with a focus on BGP peering, routing/switching, MPLS, ISIS, and OSPF. As a key member of our global network support team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity, high performance, and reliability.
