1. Analytical and Strategic Skills

2. Leadership

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects across cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and high-quality outcomes.
  • Proficient in defining project scope, prioritizing deliverables, and adjusting schedules to accommodate changes and risks.
  • Adept at stakeholder management, building strong relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • Expertise in agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, leveraging tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Asana to manage workflows and enhance team collaboration.
  • Skilled in overseeing and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that systems meet business requirements and deliver intended value.

3. Technical and Functional Expertise

  • Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with a focus on business analysis in the context of modern software development practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD pipelines, microservices architecture, and API integrations.
  • Knowledge of system architecture, relational databases (Oracle/Postgres, SQL), and foundational web technologies, enabling informed decision-making in technical discussions.
  • Capable of delivering key functional specifications and design elements, such as wireframes, data migration rules, and business rules that align with operational needs.
  • Ability to collaborate with testing teams to ensure robust test coverage and alignment with business priorities.

4. Tooling and Technology Proficiency

  • Advanced user of project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Asana, Trello, Product Board) to oversee workflows, track progress, and facilitate communication across teams.
  • Experience in leveraging GitHub for collaborative version control and Postman for API testing and validation.
  • Familiarity with visual design tools like Figma and Miro for creating wireframes and process diagrams that enhance project clarity.

 

Education and qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst or in technical project management, software development, IT delivery, or technical leadership.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CSM, SAFe Agile).
  • Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python or Java.

 

Responsibilities

The Senior Business Analysts role is primarily a project-based role to include software development and related processes. The Analyst, will elicit, document, and analyse and implement data-driven processes aimed at resolving business and operational challenges. Additionally, the Senior Business Analyst will ensure alignment of their projects and requirements to business and technical strategy and architecture. This individual will coordinate people and processes to ensure project are orchestrated and delivered in a consistent manner and on time.

 

 

 

Critical Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Analyse and Document Use Cases (30%)
    • Conduct thorough analysis of existing workflows, processes, and systems supporting legacy products.
    • Document business requirements, functional specifications, and potential gaps.
    • Identify and communicate risks, dependencies, and challenges tied to legacy systems.
  2. Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication (25%)
    • Act as the primary point of contact for the business, product management, product strategy, technical teams, PMO and other stakeholders.
    • Facilitate meetings to gather requirements and align priorities.
    • Communicate project progress, challenges, and resolutions to ensure transparency.
  3. Support Testing and Implementation (20%)
    • Work with QA to ensure test plans are valid and align with the documented requirements.
    • Provide hands-on support during user acceptance testing and implementation phases.
    • Address issues promptly and coordinate with technical teams to resolve them effectively.
  4. Continuous Improvement and Documentation (25%)
    • Propose process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risks.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of workflows, requirements, and integration processes for future reference.
    • Create Jira epics, stories and create dashboards to track work being performed, burn down, etc.

 

 

 

Scope and Complexity of Duties:
The position involves working with diverse teams and stakeholders. The role requires strong analytical skills to understand complex workflows and high attention to detail. The Senior Business Analyst must be able to navigate competing priorities.


Autonomy Level:
The role offers moderate independence, with the individual expected to manage day-to-day tasks and decision-making within defined guidelines set by the team.
