Key Responsibilities:
- Perform database management initiatives that typically involve multiple disciplines and business groups, including database architecture, design, integration and data modeling.
- Assist in database installations, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Provide technical expertise for the planning, research, design implementation, maintenance, and control of databases.
- Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of issues, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners.
- Optimize and troubleshoot existing data pipelines for performance and reliability.
- Design and certify next generation database technologies.
- Provide technical recommendation into the future direction of database technology.
- Develop/implement cloud infrastructure to support current and future business needs.
- Ensure all cloud solutions exhibit a higher level of cost efficiency, performance, security, scalability, and reliability.
- Consult with multiple client groups to provide strategic solutions, influencing long term internal and enterprise level database architecture and management strategies.
- Exhibit detail orientation and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Promote opportunities for refactoring and identify areas of optimization.
- Use automation, including continuous integration, automated deployments.
- Create documents and other artifacts to promote sustainable knowledge management within the organization.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required.
- 5+ years of experience in database administration/development
- Strong knowledge and experience in database management and administration
- Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions is important. This might involve troubleshooting technical issues or analyzing performance data.
- Good communication skills are important, as the role will likely involve interacting with various teams and stakeholders.
- The ability to manage tasks effectively, prioritize work, and meet deadlines is crucial in this role.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and processes is often more important than existing technical skills.
