The Sales Data Analyst. will support the Sales Planning and Analysis team in driving sales performance through data-driven insights. This role will leverage advanced analytical tools to optimize sales processes, enhance pipeline visibility, and improve forecasting accuracy to support strategic decision-making and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Performance Analysis: Analyze key sales metrics and KPIs using Python and SQL to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in the sales funnel.
- ARR Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate Annualized Recurring Revenue (ARR) forecasts by leveraging historical data, current pipeline information, and advanced data analysis techniques. Identify trends and factors influencing revenue projections to enhance forecasting accuracy and support strategic decision-making.
- Pipeline Management: Conduct regular pipeline analysis to provide the sales team with actionable insights for improving conversion rates and deal velocity. Utilize data-driven approaches to identify bottlenecks, optimize sales stages, and enhance overall pipeline health, contributing to more effective sales strategies.
- Sales Deployment Optimization: Contribute to the analysis of sales territory and quota assignments to maximize market coverage and revenue potential, using data-driven approaches.
- Reporting and Dashboards: Create and maintain insightful reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools to provide sales leadership with actionable intelligence on team performance and market trends.
- Data Quality and Integration: Ensure the accuracy and consistency of sales data across various systems, utilizing ETL processes to support reliable reporting and analysis.
- Ad-hoc Analysis: Conduct specific analyses as requested by senior team members to support strategic sales initiatives and decision-making, employing Python and SQL for complex data manipulation.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background with a keen understanding of sales processes and metrics, combined with technical proficiency in data analysis tools. They should be detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in sales operations, business analysis, or a similar role, preferably in a B2B sales context.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for sales leadership.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis and manipulation, with experience in libraries such as pandas and numpy.
- Strong SQL skills for querying and analyzing data from various sales databases.
- Experience with business intelligence tools for creating compelling reports and dashboards.
- Solid understanding of sales processes and metrics (e.g., pipeline, ARR, conversion rates, sales cycle length).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, able to present data-driven recommendations to various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new sales strategies and analytical techniques.
- Knowledge of data integration and ETL processes beneficial for maintaining data accuracy across sales systems.
- Familiarity with advanced analytics and AI-driven insights in a sales context is a plus.
