Skills and Competencies

  • Able to commit 5 workdays per week for 10 weeks
  • Pursuing study of economics, preferably with an interest in macroeconomics or econometrics.
  • Second- or third-year undergraduate candidate preferred.
  • Good writing skills.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint user
  • Some experience in computer programming or software coding would also be beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a flexible workplace environment with colleagues across the Asia-Pacific region.


Education
Students matriculating through college, studying towards a Bachelor’s Degree or undergoing Master Programs in economics, preferably with an interest in macroeconomics or econometrics.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data and contribute to research done by the economics team. Support analysis of country and subnational economic performance. Work with Economics staff on research and consulting projects.
  • Gather and interpret macroeconomic data for internal and external clients.
  • With assistance from Economics staff, contribute to analysis and commentaries on Economic View website.
  • Estimate forecast equations to support model improvements where possible.
  • May contribute to research for consulting projects and research articles including summarising and organising materials and producing charts, tables and maps for client reports.
  • Adapt existing programs for new uses and expanded use cases.

The economics team at Moody's conduct rigorous analysis and provide forecasts on macroeconomic trends, leveraging in-house data and macroeconomic models.
