The Chief Credit Officer - APAC (CCO) is a Managing Director position reporting to the Global Head of Credit Strategy & Guidance (CS&G) within the Credit Strategy & Standards group. The CCO will lead the APAC Credit Strategy team within CS&G and will provide and direct thought leadership for analytics and market engagement, and coordinate cross-sector thematic research and rating actions related to countries in the APAC region. He or she will discern macro-economic trends, develop pan-APAC viewpoints, and direct research consistent with those themes. The CCO will engage proactively with rating teams, group credit officers and key market participants to uphold and promote rating accuracy, consistency and transparency across the region.

  • Strategic thinker able to participate in and enhance the CS&G, CSS and APAC leadership teams

Responsibilities

  • The Chief Credit Officer - APAC is responsible for determining Moody’s credit view of the region, working closely with the rating groups
  • The CCO will chair the APAC Credit Council which brings together the rating groups and acts as a forum for determining Moody’s credit views and coordinating actions in response to events
  • Supported by a high performing team, the CCO will oversee and direct the production of research and outreach in the APAC region which cuts across multiple rating groups
  • The CCO will lead outreach in the region, speaking at conferences and seminars both internally and externally in order to promote Moody’s credit views
  • The CCO will lead with curiosity and contribute to shaping our strategy and opinion on the major drivers of credit globally
  • The CCO will be highly experienced and capable of working with a high degree of autonomy, while forming strong connections both within the region and globally

About the team

The Credit Strategy & Guidance group within CSS upholds rating accuracy, consistency and transparency through independent challenge, guidance and research. The team has around 75 personnel globally of which 16 in APAC. The CCO will have around 4 direct reports in different locations within the region.

Education

The successful candidate will have strong academic credentials, likely to Master’s degree level or beyond, at a top tier institution

Fluency in English is essential and a major APAC language desirable
