Role/Responsibilities:

Financial Data Analysts (FDAs) play an integral role in Moody’s rating process and have a significant impact on its success. The main function of the FDA is to capture, analyze, and manage financial data by conducting financial statement analysis and sourcing financial data from issuer documents. This is achieved by verifying financial statement data in our database, and performing accounting adjustments per methodology requirements. The FDA will liaise with analysts, accounting specialists, and colleagues from around the globe fully understand the businesses in the portfolio they support, and as such are expected to be able to work effectively within a team. A primary function of the role is to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data, and perform ongoing monitoring of data quality.

In addition to regular responsibilities, FDAs will have the opportunity to work on new data driven projects as needed. The team is regularly provided with valuable training classes and interaction with experts around the firm as part of career growth. Analytical Data Management
Qualifications:
  • REQUIRED Bilingual English + Spanish and/or Portuguese
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
  • Individual must be organized, dependable, able to multi-task and manage priorities, display initiative and the ability to work independently
  • Candidate must have the ability to quickly transition as priorities change to meet demands
  • Strong organization, communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills are required to work as a team and for daily interaction with Moody's analysts
  • Knowledge or prior experience analyzing financial statements is strongly preferred
  • An appreciation for attention to detail is required for an outstanding candidate
