DevOps Engineer - New York - 9700BR


We are looking for a talented and motivated DevOps Engineer. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated hands-on individual with a strong focus on designing systems to build, package, deploy and monitor software. The candidate should have a mind for automation, continuous integration and continuous deployment, and familiar with both Windows and Linux. Having the ability to write scripts (whether Powershell or Bash) is also very important. We’re also looking for folks who have experience with Amazon and Azure, source control systems (Git would be great!), and configuration management tooling such as Puppet, Chef, etc.

Your job will be to take existing manual processes and to automate them from end to end. This includes build/deploy on the infrastructure side (cloud focused), backup, monitoring, and assistance to the development teams to automate the application deployment.

This is a challenging role with a great deal of responsibility. But you will not be micromanaged. This is a growth role for the right individual.   • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, equivalent experience, or related field
  • 5+ years expert on scripting languages, Powershell, Python and/or Bash/Shell
  • 2+ years’ experience on AWS, Cloudformation scripting
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps position, build and release engineering, configuration management or software development
  • Strong background of configuration management and automation tools – Chef/Puppet/Ansible/etc
  • Strong understanding of Agile development, continuous deployment and continuous integration, especially in a .NET/Java development shop
  • Strong understanding of version control (GIT/Perforce), build and release concepts and SDLC
  • Understanding of application monitoring and log analyzing
  • Experience with SQL Server
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
  • Willing to work in a fast pace and multitasking environment
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
