Vice President, Regional HR Business Partner Lead - Moody's Analytics - New York - 9422BR

The Regional HR Business Partner (HRBP) Lead is responsible for providing HR advice and counsel to senior LOB business leaders, for translating business requirements into HR services, programs and initiatives, and for evaluating HR services delivered to the business. The HRBP is responsible for the following strategic advisory and delivery competencies:
  • Business Advisor: Builds relationships with regional and global senior managers. Demonstrates strong business acumen; makes recommendations, provides advice and is a trusted advisor to senior managers on full range of HR business issues. Influences business decision-makers to implement programs that drive higher levels of employee performance and engagement. Increases manager self-reliance and helps ensure consistent application of standard HR and talent processes.
  • Talent Management: Partners with Global HRBP and regional senior management to implement a framework for assessing and developing organizational talent in an effective and systematic manner. Leads talent assessment processes in the region including succession management, annual ranking processes, mobility strategies, high potential identification and development, and building management bench strength.
  • Organizational Development: Identifies, facilitates, and supports the implementation of change management and organizational design and development initiatives in the region. Partners with Talent & Organization Development COE team to develop and execute on solutions to business challenges. Facilitates training as appropriate.
  • Rewards and Recognition: Ensures regional roles are appropriately documented and works with compensation to review benchmark data. Participates with regional senior management and business planning in the annual salary plan and incentive compensation processes. Works with Recruiting and Compensation on senior level offers. Works with senior leaders on tailored recognition programs.
  • Staffing and Selection: Works with Recruiting team on regional workforce planning. Participates in recruitment for senior level positions.
  • Risk Management – Works with Line of Business management, Legal, Compliance and the Employee Relations(ER) to ensure employment law-related risks are managed appropriately. Implements solutions to drive down the time spent by managers and HRBPs on ER case management.
  • Workforce Analytics: Reviews internal and external metrics to draw hypotheses and conclusions that help the business make more informed decisions about its workforce. Uses metrics to make recommendations to address particular issues.
  • Project Management: Leads regional projects and partners with the HRBP project resource on project management.. Participates in HR cross-functional and technical projects as appropriate.
  • HR Processes: Promotes standardization of HR processes with client groups. Works effectively with HR COEs and Service Delivery team. Knowledgeable of employment regulations and individual local laws.
  • HR Tools and Technology: Competent in using existing HR technology and tools, and MS Office software suite.
  • HR Management - Manages the HRBP regional team.
The HR Business Partner function is the primary point of contact for business leaders and leads the design and execution of a human capital strategy for one of Moody’s main operating or shared units.
  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA or Master's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 12 to 15 years or more of progressively responsible HR-related experience of which 5 or more were in a senior HR Generalist/HR management role.
  • Experience working in the Technology or Fintech industry in an HR role.
  • Ability to think globally and/or international experience preferred.
  • Understand and know how to work in a matrixed model - both corporate, functional and geographic.
  • Experience with dispersed workforce.
  • Several years’ experience in a Center of Expertise function such as: Talent Management, Organizational Development, Workforce Planning, Compensation and Benefits preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Strong leader and people manager.
  • Strategic/critical thinker with business acumen.
  • Solid project management background and experience with HR technologies.
  • Excellent facilitation, public speaking, interpersonal and communication skills.
