Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join a talented team of highly skilled engineers, playing a key role in delivering our current and future cloud strategies. The successful candidate will focus on the delivery of Moody's cloud platform which enables safe and secure adoption of the public cloud at scale.

The location for this role is flexible and can be remote. You will join our Central IT organization reporting to the Vice President of Cloud Engineering.

The cloud engineering team works in concert with architecture, application development, security, operations and the cloud program management functions in an agile fashion to build, configure and sustain Moody's cloud services.

In This Role, You Can Expect To
  • Establish core services and automation for scalable management of our AWS and Azure cloud landing zones.
  • Partner with teams across the organization to enable delivery of key capabilities to facilitate adoption of the cloud.
  • Investigate, prove out and incorporate new technologies and capabilities to drive the technology vision for a secure cloud platform.
  • Identify, contain and mitigate business risk across all cloud environments.
  • Bring passion and curiosity, working with others to?foster ideas and produce creative solutions to difficult problems while making smart choices balancing design and delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) required.
  • 5-7 years of total IT experience with at least 1+ year of experience in a Cloud Engineer role or related position.
  • Practical experience building scalable cloud platforms for a large enterprise with a key drive towards developer velocity, autonomy and automation.
  • A solid understanding of a wide variety of AWS services including: IAM, Organizations, KMS, CloudFormation, Lambda, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Config, SSM, VPC, etc.
  • Forward thinking and strategic mindset to be able to recognize and connect patterns to both enhance and simplify cloud-based development.
  • A security first mindset along with practical experience building secure applications in the cloud.
  • Experience with modern application development practices such as CI/CD, testing and DevOps.
  • Results orientated to deliver excellence and execution.
  • Self-starter who can identify areas in need of focus and collaborate to build a strategy to address them.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical and business concepts to team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills?with the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple teams and build strong partnerships across a variety of internal and external constituencies.
  • Relevant certification in public cloud services (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, etc.)- Preferred
  • Experience with Azure and/or GCP- Preferred
