Moody’s ESG Solutions Group (MESGS) is a business unit of Moody’s Corporation serving the growing global demand for ESG and climate insights. The group leverages Moody’s data and expertise across ESG, climate risk, and sustainable finance, and aligns with Moody's Investors Service (MIS) and Moody's Analytics (MA) to deliver a comprehensive, integrated suite of ESG and climate risk solutions including ESG scores, analytics, Sustainability Ratings and Sustainable Finance Reviewer/certifier services. It houses V.E and 427, both affiliates of Moody’s.

Job Description

This role reports to the MD – ESG Outreach & Research (London), the role holder will be a senior representative for the Outreach and Research team, with primary oversight for Moody’s ESG Solutions (MESG) outreach activities across North America. A core area of focus will be the co-ordination and execution of an outreach strategy across key segments in the US and Canada to enhance the visibility of MESG in the ESG, climate and sustainable finance community.
  • Responsible for the strategic planning, coordination and execution of ESG market-facing outreach in North America to standard setters, industry associations, influencers, issuers, and other market participants
  • Coordinate across all MESG business lines, spanning ESG Measures, Climate Solutions, SME Solutions, Index Solutions and Sustainable finance, to ensure an aligned and coordinated approach to regional outreach activities
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of key ESG issues in order to lead content design and delivery for MESG events in the US
  • Present at conferences, briefings and workshops to demonstrate the value of MESG solutions
  • Attend internal discussions, including ESG working group meetings, to further the development of Moody’s ESG capabilities in North America.

Qualifications

The role requires at a minimum 5 years of experience representing groups in stakeholder forums. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a demonstrable track record in building, coordinating and delivering high-quality outreach and engagement in North America. A strong background in broader ESG and sustainability issues, and their application in the investment decision-making process, would be an advantage for the position.
  • Undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor's degree) in a related discipline (e.g. political science, economics, finance, law, business, sustainability), graduate/second-level degree preferred
  • Understanding and interest of current trends in ESG, climate and sustainable investing.
  • Ability to work independently within a fast-moving global team environment
  • Strong collaboration skills, a track record of working successfully with multiple stakeholders
  • Articulate and succinct communication skills both verbally and in writing; comfortable presenting to large and experienced audiences
