Job Description

As part of our support team you will be involved in supporting cash flow models, data, analytics, tools and applications used by MIS analysts related to structured finance products including SLABS, RMBS, CLO, etc. You will be managing a team of Associate Financial Engineers (AFEs) and Financial Engineers (FEs) to build, develop and troubleshoot quantitative financial models used by clients in structured finance, act in a management role with regards to delivering on team’s responsibilities, and mentor and develop the team. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Manage a team of AFE and FEs responsible for cashflow modeling and data support
  • Create project plans to deliver on client requirements
  • Manage team’s performance and ensure timely delivery of takes and projects with high quality
  • Track and develop team’s skill and career path
  • Ensure SLA targets on timeliness and quality is met for our client.
  • Review and analyze complex structured finance cash flow models
  • Act as main contact point for client support
  • Ensure the accuracy of data feeding the Cash flow models in deal library
  • Interpret and analyze legal documents on complex financial structures to model compliance reports, cash flow models and tests
  • Liaison between the data teams in MA and MIS to resolve issues and facilitate communications related to improvements to QA processes to provide better quality data
  • Supervise and manage the collaboration with the product development team to design, build, implement and test new features
  • Oversee team’s effort to create specifications and test analytical tools to create customized macros and tools for automating internal or client workflows
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within the organization
  • Assist with special and ad hoc projects

Qualifications

Job Requirements:
  • Graduate degree with an emphasis in engineering, computer science, math, finance, economics, or a related quantitative field preferred.
  • 6-8 years of experience as a Financial Analyst, Financial Engineer, or related in the credit ratings or financial services industry, with at least 5+ years direct experience in Structured Finance modelling or financial engineering.
  • Team management experience is highly preferred
  • Working Knowledge of various structured finance asset types including, ABS, MBS and CLOs
  • Experience and ability reading complex investment documents.
  • Cashflow modeling experience for different asset classes including SLABS and RMBS using Structured Finance Workstation (SFW)
  • Working knowledge of SFW, Moody’s proprietary cashflow engine for analyzing ABS and MBS transactions
  • Working knowledge of CDOEdge, Moody’s proprietary cashflow engine for analyzing CLO transactions is a plus
  • Working knowledge of SQL, VBA or other scripting or coding languages is a plus
  • Solid quantitative skills and analytical problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the confidence to interact with top financial professionals
  • Demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm and ability to learn quickly and excel as part of a dynamic team
  • Attention to detail and ability to work and learn independently
