Job Description

The Moody’s Analytics development team in Edinburgh is a part of the global Moody’s Analytics Engineering Team. The team works closely with the product development team in Grenoble (France) to deliver solutions to Global clients.

We are looking for a talented and motivated software engineer with web development experience to join our development team based in Edinburgh. The team are responsible for a variety of software products, ranging from industry-leading regulatory products to new greenfield developments. We have a vacancy for someone to join the team as we continue to build out our product suite into the cloud and beyond.

You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of products, ranging from desktop C# offerings to pure SaaS cloud solutions. Working in an agile environment as part of a cross-functional team comprising software and financial engineers, quants and product specialists, you will help ensure we deliver the best software solutions to our clients.

You will work closely with product managers and business analysts to drive out requirements, and have a good working knowledge of the full software development life cycle, taking ownership of work from specification through implementation and test to delivery. As part of the software engineering team you will help ensure we continuously refine and improve our processes, following industry best practices and having plenty of opportunities for learning and personal development.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Technology discipline preferred.
  • Several years commercial web development experience.
  • Experience of delivering SaaS applications on the cloud, with Azure a definite plus
  • Strong knowledge of Typescript, HTML, CSS and JavaScript libraries / frameworks such as Angular.
  • Detailed knowledge of programming languages, particularly C#.Net.
  • Experience of using version control, with Git specifically a bonus.
  • Experience of database development
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and reporting skills.

A self-motivated, creative individual with demonstrated success in the development of Software Systems. A logical thinker with a structured approach to design and problem solving. Capable of interacting within a team or working in isolation without close supervision. Effective communicator especially within a technical arena.
