Data Governance Review & Standards team

Primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:
  • Conduct high quality Data Governance (DG) reviews for Moody’s IT projects/releases.
  • Support adoption of DG Standards for Moody’s Corporation and ensure the Standards are integrated into new initiatives and applications.
  • Participate in developing DG standards for data and data management activities for all respective groups (i.e. Moody’s Investors Service, Moody’s Analytics and Moody’s Shared Services).
  • Maintain and update DG Review artifacts and ensure review artifacts and processes are aligned to the DG standards and to the cross-functional teams’ processes effectively.
  • Contribute ideas to improve/automate BAU processes and implement accordingly.
  • Process DG Review Checklists, monitor DG Review inbox, and respond to emails in a timely manner. .
  • Independently manage and author thorough, detailed, high-quality documentation.
  • Maintain required review and project related documentation for projects/releases within the respective project documentation folders proactively for Internal Audit reviews and for future reference.
  • Conduct/support periodic checklists reconciliations and work on improving the numbers.
  • Conduct touch-points with Project Managers on a regular basis to ensure smooth reviews.
  • Effectively operationalize Data Governance, working with capability leads and other stakeholders and present findings to the management and Data Management CoE.
  • Prepare training material and provide training across the organization on the DG Review process and demonstrate the value of the review function.
  • Educate project teams and other SME teams on DG Review processes, resources and requirements on an as-needed basis.
  • Suggest and implement new ideas that will take DG Review process and value to the next level.
  • Represent DG Review team with SME teams and other cross-functional teams within and outside DG, provide updates and ensure alignment in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of business processes, strategies, and data needs.
  • Work closely with Data Governors and Project teams to support the management of the enterprise Business Glossary (Critical Data Elements), Data Quality metrics, Data Management Assessment (DMA) and Data debt.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships, and keeping clients informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work on ad hoc tasks/assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. A Master’s degree in Information Technology or Business is a plus.
  • Experience in Financial Services is preferable.
  • Substantial in business analysis, business process re-engineering, project management, data analysis or a similar role.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Visio, Project and PowerPoint. Knowledge of SQL and a BI tool is a plus.
  • Knowledge in Data Governance and any metadata management, or data quality tools is a plus. Eg. Collibra.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills, project and time management skills, and the ability to work both independently (with minimal supervision) and as part of a team.
  • Ability to gain consensus from multiple stakeholders .
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to assimilate information quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Basic understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies and Data Governance.

Preferred
