The team is part of the Financial Institutions Group (FIG). It provides ratings on banks, insurance companies and other non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs).
The Role / Responsibilities:

This position will report to the Associate Managing Director responsible for Moody’s Financial Institutions ratings in Hong Kong. The Analyst will be responsible for:
  • Managing a portfolio of high profile Greater China non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs)
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data for companies / financial institutions and broader industry sectors.
  • Interact with senior company executives, investors, intermediaries and press / media.
  • Build and maintain high profile relationships with investors, issuers, regulators and other market participants.
  • Present credits effectively and comprehensively in rating committees and other internal analytical meetings.
  • Present in public forum Moody's credit opinions on relevant corporate topics.
  • Work closely with senior Moody’s managers and mentor junior analysts.
  • Less experienced candidates will be considered for Analyst level.



  • 6 – 9 years’ experience in an analytical, research or risk management function of an established financial institution, publishing firm or international body, including experience in financial markets.
  • Graduate in economics, finance, accounting or related discipline with postgraduate qualifications an advantage.
  • Good understanding of banks or non-bank financial institutions in Greater China and their regulatory environment.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly including the ability to articulate complex analytic and strategic issues and influence audiences of different skill and knowledge levels.
  • Highly organized and efficient, with ability to multi-task and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • A solid track record in writing either for an internal or external audience.
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese required.
