Location: Moody’s Investors Service, Inc., 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007

Duties: Perform credit analysis of student loan asset-backed securities (ABS) and other structured finance products. Assign and monitor credit ratings. Conduct research activities. Perform credit risk analyses, including development, modification, and application of asset and liability cash flow models and assumptions for cash flow analyses. Build liability waterfall models using Excel, VBA, or Structured Finance Workstation. Serve as key resource in connection with financial modeling and automation of monitoring of student loan securitizations, including developing templates for collateral data, data mapping, and building algorithms to automate creation of cash flow assumptions and assign credit ratings. Conduct research, review legal documentation, and utilize tools and models for credit risk and default analysis for student loan ABS deals. Continually follow and study industry dynamics. Maintain up to date industry knowledge. Develop rating recommendations and present recommendations to rating committees. Assist and train junior analysts in analyzing student loan ABS performance trends and cash flow modeling.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or closely related quantitative field plus 4 years of experience in a related position at a large financial institution, credit ratings agency, or accounting firm involving financial modeling. Must have at least 2 years of experience with the following: developing and testing cash flow models based upon specific transaction documents; analyzing student loans asset backed securities (backed by FFELP, private student loans and mixed trusts) and their structures including their cash flow mechanisms/features; developing asset and liability cash flow models and VBA macros for structured finance instruments using Excel, VBA or Structured Finance Workstation; and reviewing deal documents.
