Skills and Competencies
- The ideal candidate should possess a strong command of SQL and extensive experience in database management. Having worked on financial or credit-related projects would be an added advantage. Proficiency with large datasets, maintaining data integrity, and implementing best practices in data storage and quality checks is crucial.
- A basic understanding of finance, capital markets, and financial data or credit analysis is a plus. We value curious problem solvers who love learning, working with others, and continuously honing their skills.
- We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, particularly those with a focus on finance, technology, support, and management.
- Fluency in English and strong communication skills are essential. The ability to create visual data representations through charts, graphs, and dashboards is highly valued.
- Relevant experience in credit or financial data analysis and interpretation, as well as 2-3 years of practical experience in data mining and metadata management, is desired.
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
- Experience with tools like Python, Power BI, and Alteryx, or any related to data science and analytics, will be an added advantage.
Education
- Masters in Finance, Business, Accounting or similar field.
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis to support ratings, research, analytical outreach.
- Perform various data intake tasks, including scrubbing, validating the data for further use in research and ratings
- Apply MIS' standards to existing data in order to produce valuable inputs into the rating and research process, including Moody's adjusted data, key indicators, ratios, charts and graphs in line with MIS's methodologies.
- Responsible for reviewing and understanding financial reports, official statements and other documents related to issuers' performance
- Work directly with ratings and support analysts to understand data capture requirements, adjustments and other information needed by the rating team for ratings and research
- Take initiative to participate in projects or process improvements
- Complete simple deliverables such as newsletters, database maintenance, more complex or high profile admin or other ad-hoc support with oversight
- Be able to perform data intake exercises such as resolution of data point or mapping issues
About the team
Our Ratings & Operations Control (ROC) team is responsible for analytic data capture and enrichment, inputs and outputs to support ratings & research, ratings transaction setup and release and rating desk services, regulatory processes and operational controls, product management for regulatory website, center of excellence for process improvement and project management support.
