Skills and Competencies
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based data platforms.
- Experience in SQL, dimensional modeling, supporting data warehouse, scaling and optimizing, performance tuning and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Experience with one or more data processing languages and platforms: Python, Spark (python), SQL server, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience in working with cloud technologies in AWS and/or Azure.
- Knowledge of data analytics tools (desire): Power BI, Qlik, Alteryx etc.
- Knowledge of Others: Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Salesforce.
- Willing to learn new technologies; capable of self-directed learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently and independently manage time.
- Works well in a fast-paced team environment; able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Has super analytical skills and persistence in problem solving.
- Able to work well within the constructs of an agile development process, including SCRUM, Unit Testing, Continuous Build and Integration, etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of general auditing and compliance procedures and functions expected for data catalogs and databases.
Education
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related major from a top institution, Master’s degree is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop data pipelines on data heavy tech environments (data warehouse, notebooks, ETL and BI tools).
- Design, build, and manage scalable and efficient data infrastructure on cloud.
- Prepare and manage data sets for analysis, ensuring they are accessible and usable by both internal and external data teams.
- Implement best practices for data architecture and integration.
- Ensure data accessibility and discoverability by maintaining and updating a comprehensive data catalog, enabling efficient data retrieval and usage across the organization.
- Investigate and find the root cause of data-related issues reported by stakeholders.
- Develop, update, and ensure the accuracy of technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to facilitate knowledge sharing, compliance, and efficient operations within the team.
- Collaborate with quality assurance engineers to address data-related defects.
- Provide feedback on requirements from a data perspective and provide estimates.
- Implement and test data features (schemas, SQL, Stored Procedures).
- Provide input into technical design at the task and/or module level.
- Collaborate with data governance teams to adhere to best practices and maintain data integrity.
- Work with key business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate those into data solutions that are aligned with their needs, sustainable, and built with analytics best practices.
