Skills and Competencies.

  • Financial Experience: Preferred 1–3 years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis processes.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large datasets and utilize reporting tools effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining data quality while summarizing and communicating findings; able to improve recurring processes and avoid errors.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (preferably Office 365) and eager to learn new skills and tackle new challenges.
  • Team Collaboration: Able to work independently and collaboratively, interacting effectively with teams across the organization.
  • Adaptability: Thrives under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment with flexibility and a positive attitude.
  • Problem Solving: Applies knowledge and basic/intermediate problem-solving techniques to define and resolve issues, demonstrating a proactive and self-learning mindset.

 

Education.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline is preferred. 

 

Responsibilities.

The Financial Analyst (FA) role will play a critical role in supporting through all phases of the company’s financial planning, forecasting, and analysis processes, including participation in ad hoc project work. The FA is responsible for conducting and processing large amounts of financial data on a regular basis to create detailed reports based on the observations and analysis results

 

  • Analytical Support: Provide assistance with forecasting, month-end reporting, variance analysis, and ad hoc projects based on business needs.
  • Monthly Reporting: Collaborate on the preparation of monthly reports and variance analyses to identify key focus areas for management, with moderate guidance from managers or senior team members.
  • Business Planning: Assist in preparing business planning deliverables, including forecasts, budgets, and the 5-year strategic plan, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Financial Systems Input: Support the input of forecast and budget projections into Moody’s financial reporting system under the guidance of managers or senior team members.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with Finance stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver tailored financial support.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development of new reporting solutions and implement best practices to enhance processes, standardize activities, and improve efficiency.
  • Financial Modeling: Support the creation of financial models to evaluate business scenarios and assist in the execution of strategic initiatives.

 

About the team

The Moody´s Analytics FP&A topline team is responsible for all reporting and planning activities across Moody's Analytics. The team focuses on ARR and revenue reporting, story-telling of results, and variance analytics of results against forecast and budget scenarios. We cross collaborate with various teams across both the Finance and Sales organization. Our stakeholders include senior management leadership, which includes both the CFO and president of MA.
