Skills and Competencies

  • Proven experience in insurance, risk management, or financial services, ideally in a leadership or strategic support role managing multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate complex initiatives across multiple teams using influence
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, fostering collaboration and high performance. Line management experience required
  • High degree of personal and professional integrity, discretion, and emotional intelligence - proven experience managing confidential and time-sensitive matters
  • Understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use

Education

  • Undergraduate degree in a business-related field required
  • MBA or other relevant graduate degree preferred

Responsibilities

This role owns and drives strategic and operational initiatives for the Insurance business unit with a specific focus on the central Insurance rotational graduate programme.

  • Insurance Rotational Graduate Programme 60%
    • Ensuring alignment between the programme and the business unit strategic priorities
    • Overseeing the full lifecycle of the graduate experience, supporting the ‘Assistant Director – Early Careers’ in it’s day-to-day delivery
    • Maintaining and protecting strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Chief of Staff office (parental leave cover) 40%
    • Own and drive the calendar of the Insurance Business Unit and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), attending and facilitating SLT meetings as required
    • Hold SLT to account for delivery of business unit scorecard deliverables, suggesting and leading initiatives to achieve scorecard goals as required
    • Scheduling and orchestration of key BU meetings: quarterly townhalls, Senior Leader Forum
    • Suggesting, editing and publishing internal communications for the business unit, supported by the ‘Senior Administrative Coordinator’
    • Support, develop and manage direct reports as assigned, ensuring and supporting delivery on stated objectives
    • Lead and execute special projects, (often confidential or time-sensitive) as assigned by the ‘Head(s) of Insurance Solutions’
