Responsibilities

We are hiring for a new Director position that combines leadership of the Structured Finance Group (SFG) and Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in Mexico. This is a unique opportunity to oversee credit analysis and ratings for both structured finance instruments and domestic financial institutions, including banks, insurance companies, and managed funds. The role is fundamental to ensuring the credit quality of a diverse portfolio, driving research and outreach strategy, and supporting ratings operations and best practices.

  • Leadership & Team Management: Supervise analysts and associates, ensuring balanced workload, professional growth, and team development across SFG and FIG.
  • Responsible for overseeing Mexican domestic market banking, insurance franchises, and the managed investments team. Some of these issuers finance themselves through structured debt, hence a structured finance experience is required.
  • Analytical Oversight: Validate methodologies and rating processes for structured products (RMBS, CMBS, ABS, CLO, etc.) and financial institutions.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to Moody’s policies, regulatory requirements, and independence standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Moody’s Local Mexico in meetings with issuers, investors, and regulators; enhance relationships and market outreach.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Drive process improvements and technology adoption to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Research Leadership: Lead the research agenda, generate analytical ideas, and manage research projects.

About the team
