Skills and Competencies

 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving abilities required.
  • Experience in Structured Finance/ Securitization field (RMBS, ABS or CMBS) is preferred but not necessary as sufficient training will be given.
  • Candidate must be able to understand the fundamentals around these structures.
  • Experience with data tools, scripting and/or programming skills such as SQL, Python, VBA, C# is preferred. Candidates might be tested on their stated abilities to write code and/or problem-solving skills.
  • This position requires great attention to detail, organization and ability to work effectively in a team setting to deliver outputs accurately in timely fashion.
  • A positive, motivated and self-starting attitude is required to have the initiative levels needed to succeed in fulfilling the responsibilities of this role.

 

Education 

 

  • Candidate must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computing, Statistics, Mathematics or related quantitative field
  • Additional qualifications in Finance or Computing would be preferred (e.g. CFA, FRM, AWS, SQL, Python, other) 

 

Responsibilities

 

A Data Management Associate is mainly responsible for maintaining data extraction processes, resolving extraction issues and delays, data transformation, QA, debugging and data management within our proprietary systems in order to increase our coverage, quality and speed. They will also liaise with multiple stakeholders to help with deal discovery (identify and maintain list of new issuances), data acquisition (identify sources for periodic reports) and resolving data-related queries coming from client-facing teams. You will be expected to collaborate with financial engineers, data team, vendors and developers from multiple locations globally to improve the quantity and quality of our content offerings as well as the efficiency of our business processes. There may also be opportunities to talk and resolve issues directly with Trustees, Issuers and Arrangers of the Structured Transactions.
With good understanding of various deal structures and cash flow features of securitization transactions in different asset classes, you will be expected to contribute to cross-training within the team, and work closely with client support teams and asset class desks regarding client challenges, new feature developments, and analysis of new securitization products in the market.

  • Actively increase and maintain EMEA ABS and RMBS deal universe to ensure timely extraction of data, perform data quality checks and execute resolutions as needed.
  • Lead/Participate in quality and productivity enhancement projects and create/test specifications using multiple tools such as Jira.
  • Lead/Participate in ETL tool development, automation and enhancement.
  • Understand and contribute towards workflow processes, data visualization and project management.
  • Work closely with vendors, asset class desk and client support teams regarding client challenges, new feature developments, and new securitization product analysis in the market.
  • Utilize coding skills to query, troubleshoot and analyse data; as well as create and maintain reports and applications.
  • Work independently but knowing that the team is there to support. Share knowledge, create and maintain documentation.
  • Contribute towards deal structure set up for EMEA and Australia securitization transactions using our proprietary software. You may be tasked with assisting on data issues pertaining to Cash Flow (Waterfall) model for various EMEA ABS and RMBS transactions for external and internal clients, supporting our product and software development teams for these products.

 

About the team

 

Our Data Management team, within the Structured Finance domain of the Data Estate, is responsible for data acquisition, extraction, enrichment and maintenance in our systems, using our in-house proprietary ETL processes, modelling and deal updating tools. These feed our data and waterfall cash flow modelling products with data of various EMEA and Australian securitization deal libraries (ABS, RMBS, etc.), used by a variety of leading stakeholders in the industry.
We are looking for a Data Management Associate to join our team. You will be part of exciting work in data operations and management, as well as gain a solid understanding of structured finance. The team handles a variety of quantitative and qualitative tasks, which develop your skills and abilities to the highest standards.
