Skills and Competencies

Must-have Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing Master’s or PhD degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of and skills in data visualization (building charts and graphs)
  • Experience in writing data manipulation scripts in Python as well as complex queries in SQL
  • Proven aptitude to work in team
  • Ability to speak with business people to translate functional needs into analytical research

Nice-to-have Qualifications:

  • Experience in writing scripts or designing visuals on the Databricks platform
  • Practical knowledge of PySpark
  • Presentation skills

Education

Currently pursuing Bachelor, Master’s or PhD degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Intern. This role is designed for an individual who is passionate about data engineering, data analytics and business intelligence.

The intern will be in charge of developing the data flows, and in particular:

  • assess and clarify what internal stakeholders want to learn from the datasets.
  • identify and understand the datasets able to answer gathered needs from internal stakeholders.
  • propose and prototype dashboards/reports based on relevant datasets.
  • apply analytical techniques to interpret datasets and derive insights.
  • communicate findings and insights in presentations, dashboards, and infographics.
  • study and implement how dashboards and reports metadata (owner, purpose) could be managed to maximize their impact.

This is a six month internship.

The Technical SME team in the Insurance OU is at the forefront of investigating innovative technologies to drive our customer satisfaction and help business growth.

Our team is dedicated to leveraging data analytics, generative AI, and cutting-edge technologies to solve complex business problems and enhance our product offerings.

We focus on developing and implementing data-driven strategies that support our company's objectives, employing innovative approaches to data analysis, generative AI, and actionable insights.

The intern will work closely with our Technology experts and Product teams to contribute to a trend project called MIDAS.

The MIDAS project aims to provide internal teams with insights into the usage of the products we sell by generating telemetry datasets of our main RFA SaaS products used by more than 100 customers and 4000 end-users.

The project also aims to chart a course for an Insurance data platform as well as our next offerings of Insurance data solutions.
