Education
• Bachelor's or graduate degree (MBA, Master's) in a relevant field such as environmental science, engineering, social sciences, economics, finance, or international relations, plus substantial related work experience.
Responsibilities
Moody’s Ratings is looking to hire an AVP – Sustainable Finance to be our analytical lead for sustainable finance assessments in Japan. The role will lead high-impact, professional, and responsive analytical engagements with key stakeholders across Japan’s sustainable finance ecosystem. This includes associations, issuers, intermediaries, and investors. The role requires strong subject matter expertise, relationship-building skills, and the ability to deliver insights that support the growth and integrity of sustainable finance in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the Sustainable Finance assessment team in Japan, overseeing the production of Second Party Opinions and Net Zero Assessments.
• Contribute to the development of analytical frameworks and provide insights on sustainable finance market trends in Japan.
• Ensure professional, timely, and insightful engagement with clients, demonstrating deep analytical expertise and market knowledge.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with Japanese issuers, underwriters, and investors.
• Develop and deliver thought leadership on key topics shaping the transition finance landscape.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering collaboration and managing shared deliverables effectively.
About the team
Our Sustainable Finance Assessments team is responsible for producing assessments on the credentials of sustainable debt instruments and financing frameworks (Second Party Opinions) and the strength of entities’ carbon transition plans (Net Zero Assessments). Our role is to support the integrity and clarity of a market that is becoming increasingly complex, covering a growing range of sectors and technologies.
