Title: AVP - Software Engineering

Location: 1414 South Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28203

Duties: Responsible for owning and overseeing Data/ETL/Reporting operations of critical ratings applications and corresponding ratings dissemination pipeline design. Architect, design, develop, and implement solutions for building new applications with modern architectural principles. Support enhancements and fix bugs in existing applications following agile practices/methodologies. Work with application architects, business analysts, developers, and QA analysts (in-house and vendor) to execute development deliverables. Maintain and foster close relationships with application development squads, support teams, and business partners. Enforce best practices and eliminate unnecessary inefficiencies when designing/enhancing solutions to create robust/resilient applications. Perform code reviews and discuss unit testing strategies to implement solutions with exceptional quality. Perform problem solving and troubleshooting across multiple complex applications and business processes by providing proactive planning, methodical analysis, and practical solutions/workarounds. Support on-call response to critical operational issues and implementation transition activities. Technical documentation of critical components of the solutions that are being designed and developed.

Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering, or a related technical field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a Software Engineer, Technical Consultant, or in a related IT position working with business partners/stakeholders to understand business processes and functional requirements and drive the design/development of solutions. Must have experience with the following: building robust designs by incorporating best practices and methodologies; collaborating with Development/QA teams to carry out development activities; working on operating systems, including Windows and Unix; designing data pipelines and data flows to understand complete data lineage of operational applications; troubleshooting complex applications to handle production incidents; performing data modeling and design using database technologies, including Sybase, Oracle and SQL Server; performing core database development using native tools/methods, including Stored Procedures, Triggers, SQL, and PL/SQL scripting; performing Extract Transform Load (ETL/ELT) design/development and working with ETL tools, including Informatica; using programming languages, including Shell Scripting; performing data profiling and data quality analysis of systems; and working with SDLC process, including Agile and Waterfall.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $149,469 to $195,550, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
