Job Summary: The Assistant Director, Data Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing privacy-related requests from individuals, ensuring compliance with global privacy laws and regulations. This role involves handling data subject requests, coordinating with various internal stakeholders, and maintaining accurate records of all privacy-related activities. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Legal and Compliance teams to ensure that all privacy requests are addressed promptly and in accordance with applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process data subject requests, including requests for access, rectification, erasure, and restriction of processing of personal data.

  • Coordinate with the Legal and Compliance teams, as well as internal stakeholders, to ensure that all privacy requests are handled in compliance with global privacy laws and regulations.

  • Maintain accurate records of all privacy-related activities, including data subject requests and responses.

  • Conduct root cause analysis of privacy-related incidents and develop action plans to address identified issues and prevent recurrence.

  • Provide training and guidance to employees on privacy-related matters and promote a strong privacy culture within the organization.

  • Monitor and report on key privacy metrics, providing regular updates to senior management.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to privacy and data protection.

  • Collaborate with business units and other stakeholders to ensure that privacy risks are effectively managed and mitigated.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, business administration, risk management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations, regulatory tracking and management, preferably within the financial services industry.

  • Strong knowledge of global privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection laws.

  • Proven track record of managing and processing data subject requests and other privacy-related activities.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
