Skills and Competencies.
- Entry-level position (previous experience in FP&A or internship preferred).
- Eagerness to learn new skills, tackle challenges, and develop foundational knowledge of financial instruments, terminology, and FP&A practices.
- Strong verbal and written English skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (preferably Office 365).
- Good analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities; able to adapt to changing environments and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Applies basic problem-solving techniques to resolve issues and provides support for business planning processes and deliverables.
- Maintains a positive attitude and works collaboratively as part of a team.
Education.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline is preferred.
Responsibilities.
- The AFA will be part of the Expense FP&A team supporting the Moody’s Ratings segment.
- Support senior team members in executing financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes, projects, and ad-hoc requests.
- Provide analytical support for forecasting, month-end reporting, variance analysis, and ad-hoc projects based on business needs.
- Collaborate on the preparation of monthly reports and variance analyses to identify key focus areas for management.
- Assist in preparing business planning deliverables, including forecasts, budgets, and 5-year strategic plans, and input projections into the financial reporting system.
- Partner with other teams within Business Planning to build strong working relationships across the organization.
- Contribute to the development of new reporting solutions and help identify key focus areas for management under the guidance of senior team members.
About the team
The Associate Financial Analyst (AFA) role has the responsibility of providing support through all phases of the financial planning and analysis processes and to become a major contributor to our Finance team.
