Skills and Competencies
This dynamic role offers the chance to lead the credit analysis of both new and existing issuers within Moody's Local in Central America and Dominican Republic. The primary focus will be on financial entities, and we're particularly interested in candidates who can bring a diverse understanding of banking. Reporting initially to the Ratings Manager, this position offers the rewarding opportunity to guide, coach, and mentor junior analysts, shaping the future of our industry. - At least 8+ years of relevant work experience, mainly in financial entities.
- Knowledgeable about finance entities and transactions.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Word and PowerPoint; Microsoft Excel skills is mandatory.
- Demonstrated analytical and modelling skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities in Spanish and English.
- Ability to lead exciting priorities within deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications in economics, accounting, engineering, business administration, statistics, actuarial science
- Graduate / second-level degree (e.g. MBA, Master's) is a plus.
- Other Certifications (CFA, FRM, CAIA, CQF) are a plus but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative assessment of financial documents and economic/market data, as well as analysis of, bond indentures, liquidity agreements, financial documents, and other legal documents.
- Conduct initial and ongoing credit analysis on a dedicated portfolio of financial entities and transactions.
- Actively supervise the portfolio and make recommendations for rating transitions in a timely fashion.
- Present credits efficiently and accurately in rating committees and other internal analytical meetings, formulate a coherent credit rationale and present this rationale in a persuasive fashion.
- Demonstrate credit rating judgment as evidenced by the ability to distinguish among entities and transactions at different credit rating levels.
- Produce timely and relevant research on specific issuers, general credit trends, or sector related issues that is in-depth, high quality, informative and focused.
- Build and manage relationships with investors, advisors, and issuers.
- Develop Moody's Local franchise through intermediary marketing and transparency initiatives.
- Lead issuer meetings, including presenting key credit rating factors optimally and asking probing questions that result in substantive dialog about key credit issues.
- Mentor and develop junior analysts.
