Skills and Competencies.
- 10-12 years of leading professional analytic or support services in a financial institution, rating agency or consulting firm. Broad credit experience is essential, with expertise in banking, managed funds or insurance. Experience in structured finance is highly advantageous.
- Proven track record managing teams. Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to proactivity drive change and inspire confidence and motivation in others to follow.
- Proven track record of enhancing existing relationships and market outreach, as well as identifying opportunities in new markets. Demonstrates a resourceful, resilient, customer-oriented, and market-centric perspective.
- Well-developed analytical skills.
- Strong written and oral communication capabilities in English.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities within deadlines
- Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education
- Graduate / second-level degree (e.g. MBA, Master’s) required or equivalent strong academic background. Other certifications (CFA, FRM, CAIA) are beneficial but not required.
Responsibilities
The Associate Director of FIG ML is a leadership role at Moody's Local MX, responsible for overseeing Mexican domestic market banking, insurance franchises, and the managed investments team. Some of these issuers finance themselves through structured debt, hence a structured finance experience is required. This role is fundamental to ensure the credit quality of the portfolio of existing and new ratings, research and outreach strategy and execution, ratings operations, and best practices to support ratings quality, research operations, and outreach activities. Additionally, the role encompasses a degree of responsibility for the growing area of structured finance deals.
In this role you must be well regarded by issuers, investors, and regulators alike in the financial services sector. Also, you must be a source of analytical research ideas and lead the research agenda. It will be need that you assume a leadership role in internal projects and help to manage and develop junior analyst as well as research and analytical projects.
The position has overall responsibility for approximately 2 Lead Analysts plus 3 associates in Mexico.
