This is an exciting opportunity to join the Insurance team focused on client engagement. As a member of the team you will be at the forefront of industry developments, client engagement and will be exposed to cutting edge stochastic modelling and risk management problems.

You will be responsible for understanding customers’ technical requirements for stochastic modelling applications across liability valuation, pricing, capital modelling, stress / scenario testing, investment, strategic asset allocation, and other topics such as climate scenario analysis.

The candidate will be responsible for technical engagement with our existing clients to support them in their stochastic modelling needs. In addition, the role will also provide support to technical pre-sales engagements . This role involves a significant amount of day-to-day direct client engagement, regular travel and working closely with our sales team.

The role is responsible for producing software configuration, scenario sets, general quantitative support for Moody’s Scenario Generator software in the context of technical client support and pre-sales. In addition, the role will also require leading client trials/proof of concepts & demonstrating the value proposition of Moody’s solutions. The role will also require the candidate to be the “voice of the client” to our product and research teams to ensure that we can define product development requirements. Responsibilities include:

  • Taking a leading role in the training and support of our clients in relation to our stochastic modelling products SG (Scenario Generator) models and calibrations. This will include the hosting of training sessions and the delivery of training on these products and their underlying quantitative modelling techniques.
  • Taking a leading role in our retention strategy and efforts. This is to identify risks and opportunities with existing clients. This strategy involves working on a client-by-client basis, and identifying methods to prioritize workflow.
  • Working directly with clients to support trials and proof-of-concepts, as well as giving product updates. This will involve producing analytical work using stochastic scenarios for valuation, capital and investment purposes.
  • Working with our sales team to lead technical engagements with prospects in meetings/workshops related to implementation projects for our products and content-services.
  • Produce analytical work for clients based on the application of financial modelling to investment and risk management problems.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders across our research and product development teams to represent our client ‘voice’ in the development of our software and content solutions.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships and key stakeholder relationship across the insurance, pensions and asset management business.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in all aspects of stochastic modelling including valuation, pricing, capital modelling, ALM, stress / scenario testing, and investment decision making.

 

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Masters degree in highly quantitative subject (financial mathematics, mathematics, physics, etc.).
  • Understanding of financial mathematics e.g. derivative pricing, interest-rate modelling, econometrics, stochastic processes, Monte-Carlo simulation, and their application in the insurance sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with teams from different backgrounds and at all levels.
  • Progression towards achieving the actuarial qualification or CFA is advantageous

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds and at all levels
  • Efficient approach to problem solving

  • Willingness to travel to client’s site, the successful candidate will travel around 25% of their time.
  • French language skills are highly desirable, as the role involves regular interaction with French-speaking customers.
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

Based in Paris, our Insurance team works with our global life and general insurance client base to develop innovative quantitative solutions to complex problems in valuation, risk and capital management, leveraging Moody’s award winning Scenario Generation product suite.
