Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience selling into large asset managers or other complex solution selling situations.
  • Ability to sell on a needs/solutions approach.
  • Ability to influence key decision makers during the full life cycle of the sales process.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills as well as outstanding client relationship management experience.
  • Strong communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose issues and develop solutions.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet short deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, with focus and high attention to detail.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related area required.

The Role / Responsibilities:

This Relationship Manager role is pivotal for driving growth within our asset management client segment. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of large, strategic clients across the United States and Canada, where your expertise will be essential in developing and nurturing long-term relationships.

In this capacity, you will play a crucial role in rolling out Moody's strategy to empower asset managers to leverage our proprietary data and analytical tools. Your efforts will focus on helping clients mitigate risk and identify alpha, ensuring they can navigate the complexities of their investment strategies effectively. As a key player in our sales team, you will have the opportunity to leverage your deep understanding of the asset management industry to up-sell and cross-sell Moody’s comprehensive suite of products and services. Collaborating closely with internal partners, including Domain Sales, Solutions Specialists, and Customer Success Managers, you will lead sales cycles that offer holistic solutions tailored to our clients' unique needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage full lifecycle sales process which includes identifying and initiating new sales opportunities by prospecting new clients and leveraging off existing client relationships, sales presentations and contract negotiations.
  • Illustrate a deep understanding of client decision-making approach, priorities, and requirements.
  • Manage sales cycles and involve Domain Sales specialists, Solution Specialists, and Industry Practice Leads where appropriate.
  • Provide current forecasts and pipeline information to management.
  • Meet established revenue targets, while creating new and enhanced customer relationships to ensure satisfaction.
  • Generate new revenue from research, product and service solutions and defending & growing existing revenue streams.
  • Represent company at industry and company sponsored events, as required.
  • This position requires up to 40% travel.

Global Sales and Customer Service is comprised of over 1,300 sales and customer service professionals serving customers across banking, insurance, asset management, corporate, professional services and government sectors across over 50 countries.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $112,000.00 - $162,400.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
