Skills and Competencies
- 1–2 years in data analytics, data modelling, coding, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Python or R for analytics and automation.
- Familiarity with SQL and data manipulation tools.
- Exposure to statistical methods and analytical frameworks.\
- Eager to learn new technologies and adapt to diverse projects.
- Detail-oriented, self-driven, and comfortable working independently or in cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal skills for presenting analytical insights.
- Exposure to UI design principles and tools (e.g., React.js, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with Generative AI concepts and frameworks (e.g., transformer models, LLMs).
- Experience with data visualization libraries or platforms.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for analytics projects.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret data from various sources to support catastrophe risk modelling, loss analytics, and property data quality assessment.
- Draw meaningful insights from research papers and industry publications relevant to insurance domains.
- Automate routine data processes using Python or R.
- Apply standard statistical methods for data analysis, quality assurance, and reporting.
- Communicate analytical findings through presentations, charts, and written reports.
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects, translating data into actionable insights and supporting ad-hoc analysis.
- Contribute to the enhancement of data products and solutions used in insurance risk management workflows.
- Stay updated with advancements in data analytics, modelling techniques, and relevant technologies.
About the team
The team focuses on developing products related to insured property exposures, data, and related applications. Such products are an important part of Moody’s Insurance product line and provide a wealth of valuable information for our clients. The candidate will be working in a multidisciplinary environment developing, designing, and implementing a wide range of data products and solutions used in catastrophe risk modeling, valuation modeling and Property & Casualty data quality assessment and enhancement. The candidate will be expected to gain and further utilize an in-depth knowledge of the products and relevant technologies
