Skills and Competencies
We are seeking a motivated, ambitious individual to provide insightful credit analysis and research, to ensure rating accuracy and engage with the investor community. This role would suit someone who is passionate about demonstrating their credit and analytic competence, while engaging with issuers’ senior management, finance and credit specialists.
- Credit/risk assessment experience gained from a financial institution, or an asset management firm, or proven equivalent in-depth understanding of the asset management and fund finance sectors (i.e. subscription credit facilities, NAV lending, middle market lending, etc.)
- Good communication skills are essential - able to communicate, both verbally and in writing, clearly and succinctly, including the ability to articulate complex analytic issues
- Quantitative aptitude and proven analytical skills are necessary
- Highly organised and efficient candidate, with ability to multi-task and able to meet tight deadlines
- Fluency in English is required
- Willingness to travel across EMEA is expected
Education
- Strong academic background at least equivalent to MSc (or similar) in relevant areas; a professional qualification (e.g. CFA) would be highly beneficial
Responsibilities
Moody’s Ratings is hiring an Analyst for our Funds and Asset Management Team based in Paris. This role involves managing a portfolio of asset managers and fund ratings across EMEA, providing insightful credit analysis and research, and engaging with the investor community.
Key responsibilities will involve:
- Developing in-depth knowledge of the assigned portfolio of EMEA asset managers and funds
- Ensuring ratings accuracy. Developing a detailed understanding of relevant Moody’s methodologies and ensuring ratings are accurate and forward-looking. Performing and presenting in-depth fundamental credit analysis on the assigned issuers at committees
- Building strong working relationships with senior management at issuers. Engaging regularly with investors, and intermediaries, communicating critical credit views and demonstrating deep industry and company knowledge
- Writing in-depth, high quality, insightful and focused research on rated companies, sector-wide and cross-sector credit themes. Delivering thought leadership through conferences, webinars and podcasts
About the Team
The FAM team is part of the Financial Institutions Group within Moody’s Ratings and provides ratings on asset managers, investment funds, and fund finance (subscription facilities, NAV loans).
